Donny Osmond To Perform At Oakdale
WTNH
by Kristin Cusato
August 22, 2011

Wallingford, Conn. (WTNH) - Long-time entertainer Donny Osmond will be performing in Connecticut on August 24.

Donny Osmond is kicking off his 2011 solo tour in Connecticut.
Osmond said, "Always wanted to do a show like this where the audience dictates what happens, I don't know what's gonna happen when I hit the stage."

This is different for a man who's been entertaining for almost 5 decades now. It's an interactive show, where people ask questions and request songs. If you want to know about the purple socks, he'll tell you. "There's a song I did 'when the deep purple falls,' all the socks fall. I have that video clip if it comes up," Osmond said.

The consummate entertainer has done tv, movies, broadway, and voice work. He says he's lasted this long because he constantly reinvents himself.

The Vegas Donny and Marie show is on hiatus right now, but the ribbing continues as he restates that he won, and Marie lost, Dancing with the Stars. "I love to rub it in. She came in third, which puts her right up there with Bristol Palin!"

He has some advice for the child stars of today: stay grounded and be unique.

To some, he's a little bit rock and roll, to others, he's still a teen heartthrob.

He looks at this show, as a trip down memory lane. Osmond said, "I'm gonna get up there and have a good time and I'm hoping the audience will join me and have a great time as well."

Donny Osmond's show at the Oakdale in Wallingford is Wednesday, August 24.
