According to the Osmond Network, Alan had just had his first chat in the Osmond  Chat room “the other” night.  The entry in the News section went on to state that Alan had been working hard in producing the Branson Blast, the largest firework show in Branson, Missouri.  He ahd taped the show in hopes of including segments in an upcoming TV special.  He had over 60 stars join him for this event.

Alan’s son, Jon broke his arm in two places while learning the ice skating routines for the Christmas show in Branson to be performed later this year.

Donny performed in Provo, Utah in Utah’s Stadium of Fire.  He made an entrance by standing on the side of a helicopter as it lowered him into the stadium at BYU in front of 55,000 people.

Merrill produced the Pioneer Pageant at the North Sanpete High School in Mt. Pleasant, Utah.  Alan’s family attended the show.

According to the Osmond Network, Alan broke his arm while he was hiking with his family in the mountains.  His son, Jon, had previously broken his arm and now they were both in casts.

Wayne, Jimmy and Jay were performing at the Osmond Family Theater for the summer months.  Wayne’s family also joined the show and participated in the production and solo spots in the medley.

Donny and Marie appeared on The Rosie O’Donnell Show.  This was show where Rosie made Donny put on a puppy dog suit and sing her Puppy Love.  This was Rosie’s revenge for calling her fat on a previous show.

Wayne celebrated his 45th birthday.  He had cake and ice cream given to him backstage in Branson, Missouri and he started handing out tons of Goo Goo Cookes to the staff and cast at the Osmond Family Theater.

According to the Osmond Network, Donny was taking some therapy for his vocal chords.  He ruptured his vocal chords during a performance of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Rehearsals started for the Osmond Family Christmas Show at the Osmond Family Theater in Branson, Missouri.

Marie did a cameo appearance in Almost Perfect which aired on this date.  The title of the episode was Heaven’s Helper.

November 2, 1996

Marie and The Brothers flew to California to support Bob Dole in his Presidential campaign.

November 3, 1996

Alan, Wayne, Merrill, Jay, and Marie performed at an event for Bob Dole in California.  With the Brothers’ hectic schedule in Branson, it was the only day they could go out to show their support for Bob Dole.  The Osmond Family unitedly spoke out against the partial abortion issue.  They believe they must vote their conscience and stand against this issue.

November 3, 1996

Jimmy was in Branson, Missouri to attend the Branson All-American Awards.  The Osmond Family Theater won Best Show in Branson; The Osmond Brothers won Best Vocal Group; and, The Second Generation won Best Young Group.  David was nominated for Best Male Vocalist but did not win this award.  Jimmy accepted the awards on behalf of his family.

November 4 –
December 21, 1996
The Osmond Family Theater started its Christmas Shows in Branson, Missouri.  The Christmas shows ran until December 21st.

Marie and Brian’s son, Brandon Warren was born on this date.

December 31, 1996
Tuesday
According to Alan, the Osmond Family Reunion was held on this date.  Donny was in charge of the reunion.  All of the Osmonds, 2nd Generation, and 3rd Generations (except for missionaries) were in attendance.  The family made special videos for the missionaries and sent them to them.  Donny provided each family with a print out of all their relatives which included pictures.  Olive and Virl gave the family some CD’s with personal family photos from over the years.  There were games, food, lots of laughs, and reminiscing.  The highlight of the day was a special letter written by George and Olive expressing their love for one another.  It made all of the family cry.
